Clear answers to common questions about our legal services

Common Questions

We are a full-service law firm providing a wide range of legal services across British Columbia. Our practice areas include employment law, civil litigation, commercial transactions, family law, real estate, wills and estates, construction law, strata law, and more. Whether you’re an individual or a business, we offer practical, results-oriented legal solutions.

When you reach out to us, we’ll gather basic information about your matter and connect you with a lawyer who has experience in the relevant area of law. Our team works collaboratively to ensure you receive knowledgeable, tailored support.

Legal fees vary based on the complexity and nature of your case. We offer transparent billing practices and, for certain services, fixed-fee pricing. During your initial consultation, we’ll review your options and may provide a cost estimate so you can make an informed decision.

The initial consultation is an opportunity for you to explain your legal concern, ask questions, and learn about your options. We’ll review the legal process, possible outcomes, and how we can assist. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of the next steps.

Absolutely. Everything you share with us—whether during a consultation or throughout representation—is kept strictly confidential. We follow legal and ethical obligations to protect your privacy, whether or not you retain our firm.

All clients must bring two pieces of ID including one government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s licence or passport). You should also bring any documents relevant to your legal matter. Here’s a general guide:

Wills and Estate Planning

  • Existing will (if applicable)
  • Names and addresses of spouse, children, and beneficiaries
  • Contact information for proposed executors/trustees

Estate Administration

  • Death certificate
  • Original will (if available)
  • Beneficiary details
  • Asset and debt information for the estate

Litigation or Disputes

  • Any court documents or legal notices
  • Relevant contracts, communications, or supporting materials
  • Emails, letters, or photos related to the issue
  • Contracts or agreements

If we request specific documents before your meeting, please be sure to bring those with you.

Here’s what to expect in your initial meeting with a lawyer:

  • Introduction & ID Verification: We’ll confirm your identity using government-issued photo ID, as required by law.
  • Information Gathering: You’ll share your story, provide relevant documents, and help us understand your goals.
  • Legal Assessment: We’ll discuss your legal options, outline possible outcomes, and suggest next steps.
  • Fee Structure: We’ll explain our billing approach (e.g., hourly or flat-rate) and provide a cost estimate when possible.
  • Moving Forward: If you choose to proceed, we’ll tell you what to expect and what we need to begin work on your file.

We encourage you to bring a list of questions, so you leave the meeting feeling confident and informed.
